This
small Han(206 B.C. - 220 A.D.) 'Lying' Horse has beautiful pigment remaining.
Perhaps even more fascinating is the ingenious use of pegged mortise and
tenon joints to fasten the wooden legs to the ceramic body.
While nothing remains of the wood, we can only admire the craftsman's skill
in creating such lovely figures.
