One of a pair of large Hu Jars from the Late Warring States to early Western Han (3rd Century B.C.). These exceptional jars have original lids in a three dimentional 'boshan' (magic mountain) motif with various animals and human figures.

The body is burnished and decorated with repeated incised markings and triple drawstring circles.
