Very interesting little piece. Kucha was a city on the northern Silk Road which was famous for its female musicians.This small Kucha lady is carrying a Kucha Lute that was used to accompany her singing. Kuchean singers could sing in many languages including Sanskrit. She is wearing a traditional hufu with her hands hidden in the sleeves.
