This style jar is called an "Eye" jar because of the two large concentric circular shapes in the center of the body. The entire form is quite lovely with the sweeping handles descending from the small beaked mouth to just below the inward curve of the body.

This particular jar has great encrustations around one of the 'eyes' and wonderful patina.
